101900701 Cool Springs Blvd, Franklin, Tennessee 37067TruGreen accepts applications on an ongoing basis.Job DescriptionThe Senior Public Relations Specialist plays a key role in executing TruGreen’s public relations strategy, with a focus on driving consistent, credible, and visible storytelling across earned and owned channels.This role reports to the PR Manager and supports both Corporate and Brand Public Relations efforts, including integrated campaigns that strengthen awareness, credibility, and engagement across key audiences.A core focus of this role is supporting TruGreen’s News Engine by working closely with our PR agency and the agronomy team to translate scientific expertise into compelling content that earns placement in key publications and builds brand authority.In addition, this role partners across the business and with the agency to elevate executive visibility, strengthen brand reputation, and proactively address emerging challenges, particularly as AI-driven search and content platforms increasingly shape public perception.ResponsibilitiesWorking with our agency, serve as a day-to-day driver of TruGreen’s News Engine PR efforts by ensuring consistent, high-quality execution of messaging across channelsPartner closely with the agronomy team to develop science-backed content and secure placements in industry, consumer, and trade publications as part of our News Engine strategyIdentify and execute opportunities for article placement, bylines, and media coverage that position TruGreen as the authority in lawn care and agronomic expertiseSupport executive visibility efforts through strategic media placements and written content to enhance TruGreen’s reputationProactively monitor and respond to AI-driven search trends and narratives, ensuring accurate, positive representation of TruGreen across emerging platformsPost PR coverage internally and externally on TruGreen platforms.Track media coverage, sentiment, and share of voice, identifying opportunities to strengthen positioning and address risksAssist in the development and distribution of press materials, including press releases, talking points, and media briefsSupport the PR Manager in executing Brand PR initiatives and integrated campaigns, ensuring alignment with overall marketing and business objectivesAssist in building and maintaining relationships with key media contacts, journalists, and industry influencersMonitor competitive activity and industry trends to identify proactive PR opportunities and potential reputational risksPartner cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Experience, Legal, and Operations to ensure alignment and consistency in messagingSupport crisis and issues management efforts, including rapid response and proactive reputation protectionCompetenciesCommunicates Effectively – Creates clear, compelling content tailored to multiple audiences and channelsAction-Oriented – Moves quickly with a strong sense of ownership and urgencyDecision Quality – Makes sound, timely decisions that support business prioritiesCollaborates – Works seamlessly across teams to deliver aligned and impactful outcomesBusiness Acumen – Understands how PR efforts support broader company growth and reputationEducation and Experience RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field3+ years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communicationsExperience with earned media strategy, content placement, and thought leadership developmentExperience working with technical or subject matter experts (agronomy or science-based communication experience is a plus)Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, engaging contentConsistently represents the company with professionalism, credibility, and appropriate discretion in all settingsCapable of stepping in and working after hours when necessaryProven ability to secure media placements and manage editorial relationshipsUnderstanding of SEO, AI search trends, and digital reputation managementAbility to manage multiple priorities and execute in a fast-paced environmentStrong collaboration and relationship-building skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to qualityProficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with media monitoring toolsAbility to speak, read and write fluently in English is required.You MUST BE physically located in the United States while performing this job.TruGreen is proud to affirm our commitment to hiring veterans. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
