Job Description
Addison Group is hiring on behalf of our client for a Temporary Graphic Designer / Senior Communications Specialist to support multiple communications and publication projects. This role is a high-volume production design position focused on developing multi-page publications in Adobe InDesign with strong attention to brand consistency, accuracy, and visual quality. The designer will support multiple program teams and collaborate closely with communications and publications staff to deliver print and digital-ready materials under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Design and produce multi-page publications such as reports, toolkits, and case studies using Adobe InDesign

Collaborate with communications and program teams to define project needs and creative direction

Develop initial design drafts and incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders

Ensure all materials follow brand standards and maintain visual consistency

Perform copyediting and proofreading for clarity, grammar, and consistency

Create or source visuals including graphics, photography, and illustrations

Manage multiple concurrent design projects from concept through final production

Prepare final files for print and digital distribution, including pre-press packaging

Track timelines, milestones, and project progress across multiple assignments

Support internal reporting and regular status updates with communications leadership

Work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in graphic design, publication design, and production work

Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat

Proven experience designing multi-page publications (reports, toolkits, case studies, etc.)

Strong portfolio demonstrating layout, typography, composition, and publication design skills

Experience in fast-paced, deadline-driven production environments

Strong copyediting, proofreading, and editorial skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities

Strong communication skills and ability to incorporate feedback effectively

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred (or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or English)

Additional Details

Fully remote role, may require occasional onsite pickup of equipment in Washington, DC

Candidate must be able to work independently while coordinating with multiple stakeholders

Must be able to handle shifting priorities and multiple concurrent assignments

Strong InDesign production and file preparation experience required

Must be able to start June 2026 and commit through July 31, 2026 (as funding allows)
