Senior Product Manager, Subscriber Acquisition
CNN is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Revenue and Growth Product team, focused on subscriber acquisition and conversion across our direct-to-consumer products. This is a high visibility, high‑impact role and the center of our DTC strategy. You will own and optimize the end-to-end user journey from first visit through subscription, with a focus on paywall strategy, funnel optimization, and experimentation to unlock growth. You will work at the intersection of product, data and marketing to build and iterate on experiences that increase conversion rates and acquisition efficiency. If you are the kind of product manager who enjoys getting into funnel data, gets excited about experiments and knows how to turn insights into product features, then this role is for you.
Your Role Accountabilities
Own the subscription acquisition and conversion roadmap, identifying high‑impact opportunities across paywalls, landing pages and purchase funnels, and translating them into clear, prioritized product requirements.
Write tight user stories, manage the backlog, and partner closely with engineering and design partners to deliver features that drive conversion.
Lead a rigorous experimentation program focused on paywall testing, pricing and packaging, messaging, and funnel optimization; partner with design, research, and analytics to continuously test and iterate.
Analyze user behavior across the full funnel (registration, paywall, checkout) to identify friction points and opportunities to improve conversion rates and reduce drop‑off.
Use qualitative funnel data and quantitative research to understand acquisition drivers and user intent, and translate insights into product strategy.
Define and own KPIs related to acquisition and funnel conversion.
Keep cross‑functional partners, including marketing, editorial, legal, and other product teams, informed on roadmap priorities, experiment results, and performance insights.
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of product management experience, with a strong preference for direct‑to‑consumer subscription or growth‑focused roles.
Proven experience driving subscriber acquisition, paywall strategy, and conversion rate optimization.
Hands‑on experimentation experience designing, running and evaluating A/B tests, with a track record of shipping and iterating on growth initiatives based on test results.
Experience optimizing the subscription funnel (landing page through checkout) in close partnership with marketing and analytics.
Strong product instincts across the full lifecycle (discovery, build, launch, and iteration) grounded in user research, data and hypothesis‑driven thinking.
Strong analytical skills and fluency using data (e.g., funnel metrics, web analytics, experimentation results) to inform decisions.
Track record of collaborating with cross‑functional teams to lead and execute complex initiatives.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially when translating data into decisions or strategy.
