Curating Associate - Fashion Island

Summary
Part-time Curating Associate supporting gallery visual merchandising and client experience at the Newport Beach Gallery in Fashion Island. Responsible for executing creative floor sets, maintaining visual standards, and partnering with gallery leadership and corporate teams to drive sales. The role requires a refined design sensibility, strong communication, and the ability to train and mentor gallery staff.

Responsibilities

Execute merchandise floor sets and uphold the visual integrity of the gallery according to planograms and visual maps

Work with Gallery Leadership, Curators, and corporate partners to implement creative vision and elevate the client experience

Train and mentor gallery team on floor sets, signage, gallery maintenance, and visual standards

Coordinate gallery recovery, cleanliness, and ongoing visual updates

Assist in maintaining inventory integrity and communicate product needs to appropriate partners

Provide a polished brand representation through professional appearance and client-facing communication

Requirements

2+ years of visual merchandising experience in luxury retail or a related field

Strong technical ability to use inventory and communication platforms; proficiency with Mac OS, iOS, Microsoft Office, and Google applications

Strategic, highly organized, detail oriented, and results driven with strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to multitask, prioritize, adapt to change, and solve problems collaboratively

Experience creating positive team environments and coaching peers

Ability to lift and mobilize items up to 30 lbs and perform prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and climbing as required
