Lead Web Application Developer
Join our Information Services Department as a Lead Web Application Developer, where you will have the opportunity to build high-performance web applications, troubleshoot complex server-side issues, and collaborate directly with stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions. This role is essential in the entire web development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment and maintenance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to analyze and gather requirements for web projects.

Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.

Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to maintain application quality.

Assist with system testing and provide support to team members as needed.

Lead the deployment of applications across various environments (development, staging, production).

Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, including connectivity and performance problems.

Craft and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and manipulation while ensuring database performance.

Document code, systems, and processes for future reference.

Stay updated on emerging web technologies and industry trends.

Optimize application performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility.

Integrate functionality with back-end services and databases securely.

Implement security measures including firewalls and best practices to protect applications.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Other assigned projects and duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Over 10 years of professional web development experience using modern languages/frameworks (e.g., JavaScript, Angular, C#, ASP.NET, MVC).

Web server management and deployment experience.

Experience in Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.

Integration expertise with APIs and third-party services.

Strong proficiency in designing and consuming APIs, integration layers, and microservices.

In-depth knowledge of SQL.

Experience working with AI/ML models or AI APIs, including practical application.

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).

Understanding of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.).

Proven capability to build secure, scalable, and high-performing applications.

Exceptional problem-solving skills and recognition for emphasis on automation and efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Expertise in front-end technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular).

Proficient understanding of SQL Server databases.

Familiar with version control systems such as Git.

Strong problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Capable of debugging and addressing complex problems.

Ability to enhance website performance.

Adept at working independently with minimal supervision.

Quick learner with the ability to adapt to business processes.

Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.

Basic understanding of security best practices in web development preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is based in a standard office setting and requires routine use of office equipment such as computers and photocopiers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sedentary work; may require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 10 pounds. Walking and standing may be necessary while executing job duties.

VISUAL ACUITY
Close visual acuity required for tasks including data analysis, transcribing, and extensive reading.
