Post Finishing Specialist – Lucasfilm Animation

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Post Finishing Specialist to join our team in SanFrancisco. This role is critical for ensuring the technical and creative integrity of our final delivered assets, spanning editorial, color grading, graphics, mastering, and quality control. The position requires locating in the SanFrancisco Bay Area and will be considered hybrid—primarily onsite with occasional remote work.
Responsibilities

Avid Media Composer: Editorial operations—run/edit sessions, conform and cut edited sequences, manage high‑quality export to various client and internal specifications, maintain project organization, automate timeline updates, collaborate with editorial and finishing departments, generate reports on cut versions and media usage.
DaVinci Resolve: Color and finishing—advanced color correction and grading, conform projects, manage complex timelines, render final masters, perform in‑application QC for color and format integrity, apply color science expertise across Rec.709, P3, Rec.2020, SMPTEST2084, and resolve dCTL scripting and automation, maintain interchange workflows and detailed reporting.
HDR/SDR mastering: HDR10 and DolbyVision mastering, creation and manipulation of DolbyVision metadata, derivation of SDR versions from HDR masters, advanced HQ management of professional color spaces and transformation pipelines.
Graphics and packaging: Digital graphics application expertise (Photoshop, AfterEffects, Illustrator, Affinity tools, Motion, etc.) for package creation, credit frame and subtitle production, integration of ancillary elements such as subtitles and on‑screen graphics.
Quality Control: Signal analysis, professional QC environment setup and calibration, editorial timing and cadence review, audio standard compliance, scope analysis (waveform, vector, histogram, loudness meters), QC documentation, file‑based image format selection, display measurement and calibration with industry tools (Calman, LightIllusion, photo research probes).
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Film, Digital Media, related field, or equivalent work experience.
8‑10 years of professional post‑production and/or studio mastering experience.
3‑5 years of experience with DaVinci CTL, Resolve workflow automation, and scripting.
Deep knowledge of media and cut formats relevant to editorial and finishing stages.
Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills for multitasking and meeting deadlines.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and perform weekend or overtime work when required.
Comfortable with UHD,DCI, SDR, HDR, DolbyVision, ACES workflows and with stereo, 5.1, and Atmos audio post‑production processes.
High level of initiative, flexibility, confidentiality, and adaptation to diverse personalities and work styles.
Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range for SanFrancisco: $108,200–$139,900 per year (subject to internal equity, geographic region, and candidate qualifications). Potential for a bonus and/or long‑term incentive units, along with medical, financial, and other benefits. Position requires onsite attendance for in‑person sessions and reviews.
