Camp Photographer (Rockland County)

The Camp Photographer is responsible for capturing high-quality photographs and visual content that highlight the daily experiences, activities, and spirit of camp. The Photographer will document campers participating in activities, special events, and group experiences while helping families stay connected to camp life through photo sharing and social media updates. The incumbent will help create a positive and engaging representation of the camp community while ensuring the privacy, safety, and dignity of all campers.

Camp runs from Monday to Friday, from June 29 until August 14, 2026, from 8am to 5:45pm. There will be mandatory staff training in June.
Essential Functions
Attend staff orientation sessions during June.
Capture daily photographs and videos of campers, staff, activities, and special events throughout camp.
Photograph campers participating in a wide variety of camp activities including sports, arts, swimming, nature, special events, trips, Shabbat celebrations, Carnival, Israel Day, and more.
Take individual, candid, and group photos of campers in an engaging and respectful manner.
Organize, edit, and upload photos regularly to the camp’s parent portal in a timely manner.
Assist with creating and posting approved content for camp social media platforms.
Ensure all photos and media content comply with camp privacy policies and media permissions.
Work collaboratively with Camp Directors, Head Counselors, and activity staff to identify important moments and events to document.
Daily supervision of campers as needed, including supporting staff during transitions, special events, inclement weather, and transportation.
Participate in Family Visiting Night and other camp-wide programs and celebrations.
Come prepared every day to fully participate in the Camp’s activities and assist with responsibilities outside of photography duties when needed.
Read and fully comply with the policies of Camp as set forth in the Staff Manual that you will be given during Orientation and always comply with its rules and regulations, including dress code and emergency procedures.
Exude enthusiasm for Camp life and activities and seek to incorporate the Camp’s values including curiosity, kindness, gratitude, humility, courage, perseverance, and leadership while acting as a positive role model for campers.
Ability to stand and walk for several hours, often outside during the summer season.
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Staff Shirt (provided) and sneakers required while on duty.
Ability to communicate directly with camp office regarding application, pre-camp paperwork, and throughout summer.
Education, Skills and Experience
Experience with photography, videography, social media content creation, or digital media preferred.
Experience working in a school, camp, youth program, or childcare environment preferred.
Ability to interact positively with children, staff, and families.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage and organize large volumes of digital photos efficiently.
Experience using digital cameras, photo editing software, and social media platforms preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and professionalism.
