Position

The Effector Subsystem Products Team at Raytheon is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join as an Electrical Computer Aided Designer Engineer (ECAD).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from conception to manufacturing
  • Creation of the PCB, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and Schematic drawings for suppliers
  • Schematic Capture, Component Placement, Routing of Traces, Gerber/ODB++ file creation
  • Utilizing software such as Siemens Xpedition Enterprise, DownStream Technologies BluePrint-PCB Design layouts including Rigid, Flex, and Rigid‑Flex assemblies
  • Work designs include full designs, re‑spins, drawing updates, change notices, copper changes, and process improvement projects within and outside own discipline
  • Daily interface with various engineering levels and disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering) to ensure design requirements are captured, keeping cost, cycle time, and producibility in mind

Qualifications – Minimum

  • BS in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience; or an advanced degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience with at least two of the following:
  • Previous work history with PCB manufacturing or CCA manufacturing principles affecting circuitry and component layout
  • Experience with the electrical design process
  • Experience with laying out Rigid, Flex, or Rigid‑Flex boards

Qualifications – Preferred

  • Technical PCB design skills using the Siemens design toolset (Xpedition Layout suite), including schematic capture, placement, routing, auto‑router, constraint manager, library tools, and BluePrint for complex PCB and CCA drawings
  • Knowledge of Analog and Digital, including DDR, RF, power, and mixed‑technology, multi‑layer designs with High Density Interconnect (HDI) technology
  • Export manufacturing data in Gerber and ODB++ formats, use of Valor NPI, design for manufacturing rule sets, and other Design Rule Checking software
  • Familiarity with IPC 6012 & IPC 6013, military and commercial design standards, GD&T techniques, and electronic packaging producibility considerations
  • Knowledge of RF circuitry and filter design for board layouts
  • Working knowledge of operating system concepts and network services related to Microsoft Windows suites
  • Willingness to work extended hours (nights and/or weekends) as required to complete assigned tasking
  • Active Secret DoD security clearance (or eligibility)

Benefits

Salary range: $86,800–$165,200 USD.
