Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction‑associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Our drug Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved to treat moderate‑to‑advanced fibrosis (F2‑F3) and is being studied for compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c).
Role Overview
The Director, Commercial Development, will serve as a key member of the US Marketing and Commercial organizations, representing the global commercial perspective across the Madrigal pipeline. The role involves collaborating with research & development, medical affairs, market access, commercial strategy and regulatory teams to shape development pathways, commercialization strategy and launch planning in alignment with commercial priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide commercial input on indication prioritization, endpoints, comparator strategy and trial design; identify label‑optimizing opportunities and evidence needs for global approval, access and adoption.
- Support market intelligence and competitive strategy activities, including epidemiology, treatment pathways, competitive pipelines and emerging modalities; work with Commercial Strategy, Medical Affairs and Thought Leadership to surface strategic signals.
- Collaborate on revenue forecasting, scenario planning and pricing/market uptake assumptions; inform investment, launch sequencing and lifecycle decisions with commercial assessments.
- Support cross‑functional commercialization planning with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Patient Access, Thought Leadership, Communications and Medical Affairs for coordinated launch readiness and market shaping.
Required Skills & Experience
- 12‑15+ years of biopharmaceutical marketing and/or commercial development experience; direct commercial development experience from pre‑commercialization to launch.
- Deep expertise in specialty pharma market dynamics, payer landscape and competitive intelligence.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen, high learning agility and data‑driven decision making.
- Ability to influence cross‑functionally without formal authority and to execute in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proactive, self‑starter with business owner mindset.
Travel & Work Location
Up to 25% travel, including occasional weekends. Required to work in office 3 days per week in Conshohocken, PA or Waltham, MA.
Education
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $214,000–$261,000 per year (depending on qualifications and market). Equity is offered to all full‑time employees.
