Avigilon ACC Video Management System (VMS) Administrator / Programmer
Avigilon ACC Video Management System (VMS) Administrator / Programmer is the hands‑on expert responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining Avigilon ACC 7/8 VMS platforms and Avigilon/Axis IP cameras across a large‑scale corporate environment. This role ensures high‑availability video operations, secure system performance, optimized storage, and full alignment with enterprise IT and physical security standards. The administrator acts as the go‑to technical authority for all things VMS—supporting end users, security teams, and IT stakeholders with confidence and clarity.
Responsibilities
Deployment, configuration, and day‑to‑day management of
Avigilon ACC 7/8 NVR servers
and client systems
Configure/maintain
Avigilon and Axis IP cameras , including
firmware management and ONVIF feature support
Oversee
system performance
across all locations, ensuring healthy servers, optimized storage usage, and reliable uptime
Build and refine video analytics, recording schedules, alarms, and detection or exclusion zones to meet operational needs
Manage integrations with Active Directory , including user provisioning, access levels, and security controls
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to cameras, servers, storage systems, and network video traffic
Maintain clear and accurate documentation for system setups, deployment activities, and ongoing updates
Partner with IT, Security, and external vendors to integrate the VMS with access control, intercoms, PSIM platforms, and SIP/IP audio systems
Oversee licensing portfolios, coordinate vendor support cases, and execute system upgrades for Avigilon ACC
Uphold cybersecurity best practices through regular patching, secure access methods, certificate management, and strong password enforcement
Assist with evidence preparation, including video exports, maintaining chain‑of‑custody, and supporting audit requests
Qualifications
Proficiency with Windows 11, MS Office, SharePoint ( required )
Proficiency with Remote Desktop administration ( required )
Knowledge of Active Directory and related cloud applications (Azure AD, Office 365, etc.) ( required )
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, LAN/WAN fundamentals, network firewalls, NAT, and IP routing
Experience with PoE switch configuration, VLANs, and QoS for video traffic
Experience with IP camera setup and configuration (Avigilon and Axis)
Familiarity with Category and fiber optic cabling standards (termination, labeling, testing)
Knowledge of IP video fundamentals (H.264/H.265, frame rates, resolution, bitrate/storage impact)
Experience with NVR setup/configuration, including storage provisioning and RAID
Knowledge of Avigilon ACC 7 architecture and deployment best practices
Familiarity with Axis Camera Station or Axis device configurations
Knowledge of third‑party integrations (access control, intercoms, SIP/IP speakers, alarms)
Understanding of data retention policies, video export formats, and evidence handling
Experience with cybersecurity best practices for VMS environments

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
