Senior Communications Specialist I – Staff Position College Station, Texas | Internal Communications for the Engineering Research Office (ERO)
Job Description The Senior Communications Specialist I, under supervision, is primarily focused on internal communications for the Engineering Research Office (ERO). The role involves writing and producing a wide range of informational and promotional materials, assisting with presentations and special events, and supporting the ERO’s overall communication strategy.
Responsibilities Write and produce brochures, invitations, advertisements, flyers, newsletters, articles, speeches, reports, and news stories related to ERO activities.
Proof, edit, and update information on the ERO intranet and the unit’s web presence.
Maintain a tracking system for project timelines and costs.
Develop and implement overall communications goals for the ERO office.
Collaborate with the Engineering Communications team for editing, design, and media dissemination.
Assist in promoting special events and programs.
Generate communication strategies and develop related promotional plans, tactics, and materials.
Prepare executive correspondence in collaboration with the Engineering Communications team.
Prepare complex presentations and displays.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Seven years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
Competencies Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, including communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment system or water treatment system.
