Position Summary
The Marketing Manager is ART INC's lead executor for marketing, communications, and community engagement. This is a player‑coach role — equal parts hands‑on doer and people leader — responsible for applying ART INC's established brand with discipline, consistency, and excellence across every platform and every community touchpoint. This is not a strategy‑from‑scratch role. ART INC has a brand, a voice, and a direction. What this role does is execute ART INC's established brand with discipline, consistency, and excellence — channeling creativity into results rather than reinvention, and building a marketing function the whole organization can depend on. The Marketing Manager directly supervises the Marketing & Engagement Coordinator and the IT/Marketing Specialist, ensuring both direct reports have clear direction, deadlines, and the support they need to deliver consistently. This person works closely with the CEO on donor‑facing events and external visibility, and coordinates regularly with the Chief Operations & Programs Officer to ensure program marketing needs are met and community outreach efforts are aligned with program priorities. This role is built for someone who is energized by mission‑driven work, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and knows how to lead a team and deliver results within a lean, purpose‑driven organization. If you are a self‑starter who takes ownership, builds structure, and brings others along with you — this role was built for you.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Execution & Marketing Management
Execute ART INC's established marketing and communications strategy with consistency, discipline, and attention to detail — working within existing brand standards rather than recreating them
Serve as brand steward — ensuring existing templates, voice guidelines, and visual standards are applied correctly across all materials and channels
Manage a master marketing calendar integrated with program and organizational priorities
Track and report on marketing performance metrics to inform leadership decisions
Attend program management meetings led by the COPO to stay current on program priorities and upcoming marketing needs
Maintain a standing coordination check‑in with the COPO to align on program‑related marketing deliverables
Social Media & Digital Content
Own ART INC's social media presence across all platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and others as appropriate)
Develop and manage a consistent content calendar and execute posts with quality, frequency, and engagement in mind
Coordinate a youth content contributor pipeline — leveraging student participants in ASALA and Pathways to generate authentic, mission‑aligned content under the Marketing Manager's direction and oversight
Monitor engagement, respond to community interactions, and grow ART INC's digital audience
Capture or coordinate the capture of photos and video at events and programs for ongoing content use
Marketing Deliverables & Creative Execution
Produce or coordinate all organizational marketing materials — flyers, digital graphics, event promotions, program collateral, and campaign assets — using established ART INC brand standards and templates
Manage the IT/Marketing Specialist on design and production projects with clear briefs, timelines, and quality expectations
Step in as a hands‑on executor when capacity gaps exist — this role does not delegate everything
Manage website updates and ensure ART INC's digital presence stays current and compelling
Community Outreach & Engagement
Manage an annual community outreach calendar
Prepare staff, program teams, and volunteers with the right materials, talking points, and collateral before every community event
Attend key high‑visibility events to represent ART INC and ensure brand consistency in the field
Coordinate program staff as mission ambassadors at community events — leveraging their ability to speak directly and authentically to ART INC programs
Manage the Marketing & Engagement Coordinator on community presence and event execution
Ensure no event goes out without the right representation, the right message, and the right materials
Team Leadership & Supervision
Directly supervise the Marketing team
Provide clear direction, task prioritization, deadlines, and accountability for both direct reports
Conduct regular check‑ins and performance conversations to ensure consistent execution and professional growth
Build systems and workflows that reduce dependency on any single person — including yourself
Onboard and manage youth content contributors as part of the broader content strategy
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a closely related field
Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms and producing digital content that drives engagement
Proficiency in Canva (required) and Adobe Creative Suite
Experience supervising or directing others, including managing timelines and accountability
Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a sharp eye for brand consistency and voice
Comfortable in community settings — festivals, outreach events, public‑facing tables — with energy, warmth, and professionalism
Self‑directed and proactive — this person does not wait to be managed
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
Preferred
Experience in a nonprofit, education, youth development, or community‑based organization
Basic website management experience (WordPress or similar)
Photography or video production skills
Bilingual communication abilities
Familiarity with grant reporting, donor communications, or funder‑facing marketing
What Success Looks Like
ART INC's brand looks and sounds consistent everywhere — online, in print, and in the community
Social media is active, engaging, and growing without the CEO or COPO chasing it
Every community event is staffed, equipped, and on‑brand
Direct reports are managed, producing, and hitting deadlines
Marketing stops being a source of frustration for leadership and starts being a source of pride
Why This Role Matters
The Marketing Manager will relieve the CEO and COPO of the day‑to‑day burden of managing marketing execution, chasing deliverables, and filling gaps left by an under‑resourced team. By bringing structure, consistency, and hands‑on leadership to the marketing function, this role ensures that how ART INC shows up in the world matches the excellence of the work happening inside the organization — and supports the growth from a $1.8 million to a $5 million organization.
