Junior Sales Manager
The Junior Sales Manager is an enthusiastic, driven, and relationship-focused hospitality professional responsible for supporting the hotel's sales efforts through prospecting, lead generation, account management, and client relationship development. This developmental sales role is designed for individuals seeking to build a successful career in hotel sales while gaining experience in direct selling, market development, and revenue generation. The Junior Sales Manager will work closely with the General Manager, Director of Sales, Sales Manager and Regional Director of Sales to identify and qualify new business opportunities, maintain existing accounts, and drive revenue growth. A key focus of this position is developing business relationships within the University of Texas community and the greater Austin market while supporting overall hotel sales initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and outside sales calls.
Assist in maintaining and growing existing accounts to increase room revenue and market share.
Conduct outside sales calls, area blitzes, networking events, and community outreach efforts.
Identify, qualify, and manage leads through various channels including brand lead systems, CVBs, internet research, and local market prospecting.
Build and maintain an active sales pipeline and ensure all activities are documented in CRM and brand sales systems.
Assist with preparing proposals, contracts, correspondence, and sales presentations.
Conduct hotel tours and site inspections for prospective clients.
Monitor lead conversion and booking activity to ensure sales goals are being achieved.
Review Group Pick-Up reports and communicate reservation updates with clients as needed.
Prepare weekly sales activity reports and maintain accurate account records.
Attend trade shows, chamber events, networking functions, and community meetings as designated by hotel leadership.
Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community partners.
Actively prospect and develop business opportunities associated with the University of Texas, including athletic programs, academic departments, alumni organizations, student groups, visiting faculty, recruiting events, conferences, graduations, and university-sponsored programs.
Monitor the University of Texas event calendar and proactively pursue opportunities related to campus events, sporting events, orientations, graduations, conferences, and special programs.
Build relationships with University of Texas contacts and affiliated organizations to generate room night production and revenue opportunities.
Collaborate closely with hotel operations to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
Support monthly sales action plans and revenue initiatives established by hotel leadership.
Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the hotel's sales objectives.
Position Requirements
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
Must maintain a valid driver's license and be able to perform outside sales calls.
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
One (1) to two (2) years of hospitality, sales, customer service, marketing, or related experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with hotel PMS, CRM, or brand sales systems preferred.
Ability to prospect, qualify leads, and build strong client relationships.
Strong organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with hotel leadership.
Knowledge of the University of Texas market and Austin area is preferred.
Previous hotel sales experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to travel locally for sales calls, networking events, and client meetings.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
