Stage Technical

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team at Penn's Grove Middle School as a Stage Technician for evening events. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of technical aspects during performances, including sound, lighting, and stage management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the performing arts and a strong technical background, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This position is for the evening events and the payment is prorated based on daytime and evening events.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate sound and lighting equipment for school performances and events.

Collaborate with directors and performers to understand technical requirements and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.

Conduct sound checks and lighting tests prior to events to ensure optimal performance quality.

Assist in the assembly and disassembly of stage sets and props as needed.

Monitor and maintain equipment during performances, troubleshooting any technical issues that arise.

Ensure the safety and organization of the stage area before, during, and after events.

Provide support to performers and crew members, offering assistance as required.

Maintain an inventory of technical equipment and report any maintenance needs.

Participate in post-event evaluations to discuss improvements for future performances.

Requirements

Previous experience in stage production, sound, or lighting technology is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of audio and lighting equipment and their operation.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Physical ability to lift and move equipment and perform manual tasks related to stage setup and breakdown.
