Job Summary Sales associate for new or used vehicles to commercial/fleet customers at a profit while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities Meet dealership sales goals.
Greets customer and determines make, type, and quality of vehicle desired.
Explains features and demonstrates operation of vehicle in showroom or on road.
Suggests optional equipment for customer purchase.
Computes and quotes sales price, including tax, trade‑in allowance, and discount.
Completes paperwork accompanying vehicle sales, including sales slip or sales contract.
Arranges for delivery and registration of vehicle.
Researches availability of models and optional equipment.
Engages in business development.
Addresses customer concerns.
Maintains CSI at or above company standards.
Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.
Participates in required training.
Records all hours worked accurately in time‑keeping system.
Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.
Demonstrates company’s core values.
Complies with company policies and procedures.
Observes all federal, state, local, and company safety rules and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education GED or high school diploma (preferred). Associate degree, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate acceptable.
Experience Prior sales and/or customer service experience.
Up to 3 years of automotive sales experience.
3–5 years and 5+ years experience options.
Certificates and Licenses Valid driver’s license.
Automobile salesperson license.
Computer Skills Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to learn web applications for customer management.
Communication Skills Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Effective communication with customers and coworkers.
Attendance Requirements Regular and predictable attendance.
Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands and Environment Standing, walking, sitting; frequent movement on lot and indoors/outdoors.
Test drives may require driving customer around.
Other Skills Verbal and writing ability: read, comprehend instructions, correspondence, write presentations.
Math: add, subtract, multiply, divide.
Reasoning: apply common sense, handle standardized situations.
