Internal Communications Specialist

Overview The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and executing strategic internal communications initiatives that support employee engagement, leadership messaging, and organizational alignment within the Osage Nation. This position ensures employees receive timely, clear, and consistent information from executive leadership and departments across the Nation, with a heavy focus on cross-departmental communication, awareness, and collaboration.
Responsibilities Internal Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement an internal communications strategy
Internal Strategy & Planning: Create an annual internal communications calendar
Internal Strategy & Planning: Draft internal memos, announcements, and talking points
Internal Strategy & Planning: Support executive messaging to staff
Internal Strategy & Planning: Coordinate all-employee updates
Internal Strategy & Planning: Manage internal newsletter(s)
Internal Strategy & Planning: Develop internal campaigns
Internal Strategy & Planning: Promote employee initiatives and recognition
Internal Strategy & Planning: Support culture-building efforts
Internal Strategy & Planning: Develop internal email campaigns
Internal Strategy & Planning: Ensure consistency across departments
Internal Strategy & Planning: Create internal FAQs and toolkits
Internal Strategy & Planning: Assist in internal crisis communications
Internal Strategy & Planning: Ensure staff are informed during emergencies
Internal Strategy & Planning: Track engagement metrics
Internal Strategy & Planning: Conduct internal surveys
Internal Strategy & Planning: Provide reporting and recommendations
Education Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience 3+ years of communications experience
Experience in internal or organizational communications preferred
Government or tribal government experience preferred
