Choral Ensemble Leader

Penn's Grove Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our Choral Ensemble team. The ideal candidate will foster a love for music and choral singing among students, guiding them in vocal techniques, music theory, and performance skills. This role involves working with a diverse group of students to create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages creativity and self-expression through music.
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and conduct rehearsals for the Choral Ensemble, ensuring a structured and engaging learning environment.
Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that includes vocal techniques, music theory, and performance preparation.
Select appropriate choral repertoire that aligns with the skill levels and interests of the students.
Prepare students for performances, including school concerts, community events, and competitions.
Collaborate with other music educators and staff to support the overall music program at Penn's Grove Middle School.
Provide individual feedback and support to students to enhance their vocal skills and confidence.
Maintain a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration.
Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding schedules, performances, and progress.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in music education.
Requirements:
Experience in teaching choral music to middle school students preferred.
Strong knowledge of vocal techniques, music theory, and choral repertoire.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students of varying skill levels.
Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop their musical talents.
Proficiency in piano or guitar is a plus.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
Valid teaching certification or equivalent credentials in music education is preferred.
