Duties

Under general supervision, represent the Company as a single point of contact with customers, builders, developers, Company representatives, and other appropriate contacts regarding service requests of low to moderate complexity.

Process and monitor customer applications for service from start to finish, including design of assigned jobs in accordance with Company electric standards and the candidate’s experience.

Answer inquiries and respond to information requests from customers, electricians, and others regarding service facilities.

Provide accurate job information to the Design Center.

Prioritize and quickly respond to internal and external customers regarding service requests.

Provide customers with information on rates, charges, programs, service requirements, and other technical expertise as required.

Obtain all required customer approvals, easements, and rights‑of‑way as needed; prepare appropriate contracts, permits, releases, plats, and records.

Make field inspections and prepare material and labor estimates, plats, and drawings for proposed construction.

Use survey equipment/tools, including transit and level, as needed.

Handle special requests as assigned.

Special Responsibilities

Ensure customer satisfaction with all facets of service work.

Ensure proper application and collection of service‑related charges and protection of Company revenue; implement policies for revenue guarantees and contributions.

Maintain billing and operating records for all service work.

Use Company resources efficiently and effectively; identify the method of service that best serves the Company.

Use Company equipment safely and prudently; protect public safety by preventing and/or identifying unsafe electric facilities.

Contacts

Regular communication with customers, contractors, governmental authorities, real estate developers, banks, trust companies, and other contacts as appropriate.

Daily communication with internal departments—Design Center, Operations, supervision, supervisors/foremen, transport, meter departments—regarding jobs, estimates, materials, and data.

Working Conditions

Combination of office and field environment.

Must wear personal protective equipment when in the field.

Subject to emergency call‑out.

Required to operate a vehicle.

Considerable walking on long distances and over rough terrain.

Ability to use hand tools and equipment as required.

Exposure to varying weather and construction site conditions.

Work in close proximity to energized electrical facilities.

Qualifications

High School Degree or equivalent.

Two (2) years of related experience in CAD, field work, construction, surveying, technical drawing, electrical work, or a related field (preferred).

Valid driver’s license required.

Pass Company’s EEI Technical Aptitude test (may be retaken once after a one‑month waiting period and up to three times in total).

Completion of at least three (3) credit hours in AC/DC Electricity from an accredited junior college, college, university, or a Company‑approved certificate program with a minimum grade of “C” (preferred).

Completion of at least one (1) semester of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) with a minimum grade of “C” (preferred).

Post Employment Qualifications
Successfully complete Modules 1–3 of the Company’s technical training program for the Electrical Distribution Designer I position within one (1) year of the start date. If educational requirements are not met before acceptance, employees will be required to enroll and complete the necessary coursework within specified timeframes, achieving the defined grade levels.
