Designer I - Product Development (Ruskin | Grandview, MO)

JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT

Ruskin, a subsidiary of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., is seeking a Designer I - Product Development

to support new product innovation and ongoing product enhancements at our Grandview, Missouri facility. This role is responsible for executing entry-level design projects, contributing to product development initiatives, and supporting engineering teams with CAD deliverables, product modifications, and release coordination. The Designer I will play a key role in ensuring designs meet customer expectations, manufacturing capabilities, and company standards.

What You'll Do:
Plan and execute basic design projects related to new product development and existing product improvements
Support redesign efforts and production modifications to enhance product performance and manufacturability
Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and documentation for assigned projects
Assist with customer-facing CAD deliverables and design specifications
Coordinate layout and packaging requirements for product designs
Support engineering change releases and documentation processes using EPIC or similar systems
Conduct CAD studies and analyses to evaluate design concepts and improvements
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility
Maintain accuracy and compliance with company design standards and procedures
What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1 year of related experience,

OR
Associate degree with a minimum of 6 years of related experience,

OR
Equivalent combination of education and relevant design experience
Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
Basic understanding of product design, drafting standards, and manufacturing processes
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Preferred:

Experience in HVAC, air movement, or manufacturing product design
Familiarity with EPIC or engineering change management systems
Exposure to product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
Knowledge of sheet metal or mechanical component design

Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid environment that includes both office and manufacturing settings. The role involves working at a computer for extended periods as well as occasional time on the production floor. Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and manufacturing processes may occur.
