Summary
The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of client relationships with contractors, builders, and construction professionals to support sales of lumber, building materials, and millwork.
The role requires strong industry knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage accounts while supporting the growth of new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development: Identify and target potential customers, generate leads, and support the closing of sales to meet or exceed revenue goals
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with contractors, builders, and other industry professionals. Provide expert advice and recommendations based on customer needs
Product Knowledge and Consultations: Stay informed about lumber, building material, and millwork products, industry trends, and pricing to provide suggestions and solutions that meet customers' needs and requirements
Job Site Visits: Travel to job sites and other customer locations to assess customer needs, delivery quotes, and provide hands-on customer support
Quoting and Order Management: Work with inside sales team to prepare accurate pricing estimates, process orders, and coordinate deliveries
Problem Solving and Support: Address customer concerns, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales process
Collaboration: Work closely with inside sales, purchasing and operations teams to ensure product availability and timely deliveries
Reporting and Forecasting: Maintain records of sales activities, customer interaction, and market trends to provide insights for current and future business
Qualifications
Proven experience in sales, preferably in the lumber, building materials, or construction industry
Strong understanding of wood products, engineered lumber, building materials, millwork and blueprint takeoffs
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans (preferred)
Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned territory
