Job Description
Full-Time – Columbus, OH, US (Preferably based in Detroit, MI, Cleveland, OH). Salary: $90,000 to $145,000 annually. Shift: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday–Friday (weekends and nights may be mandatory based on business needs). 25% travel required.

Role Overview
The Regional Sales Manager reports to the Division Sales Manager and is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market presence within a designated geographic region across the United States. The manager develops and executes comprehensive sales strategies, leads a team of sales representatives and distributor partners, and analyzes market trends to identify new opportunities.

Essential Duties

Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve regional targets and expand the customer base.

Manage and support distributor sales channels to optimize product availability and market penetration.

Oversee sales territory management, ensuring balanced coverage and efficient resource allocation.

Build and maintain strong relationships with national accounts and key customers to drive long‑term partnerships.

Monitor sales volume and performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.

Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align sales initiatives with promotional campaigns and product launches.

Coach, mentor, and lead the regional sales team to enhance their skills and performance.

Identify emerging market trends and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies proactively.

Review monthly performance and program status with District/State Managers.

Monitor key activities in the assigned region and facilitate internal and external communications.

Evaluate business execution in the region and identify opportunities.

Expect 2–3 days per week of in‑trade activity.

Develop and maintain a 90‑day forecast for the region.

Review budget tracker with the Zone Manager.

Maintain the region scorecard.

Conduct monthly performance updates with distributor senior leadership.

Conduct one‑to‑one meetings with supervisor and State/District Sales Managers.

Lead quarterly region meetings with State Managers, District Managers, Key Account Managers, and Chain Managers.

Conduct quarterly business review meetings with distributors at the region level.

Complete formal state‑level surveys with key distributors and document next steps.

Utilize provided technology to conduct business efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in regional or territory sales management.

Proven track record of managing distributor sales and achieving sales volume targets.

Strong knowledge of national sales processes and key‑account management.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in business administration or a related discipline.

Experience in the wine industry or a related field.

Familiarity with CRM software and sales analytics tools.

Demonstrated success in managing large sales territories across multiple states.

Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region.

Knowledge & Skills

Excellent communication, organizational, and self‑motivational skills.

High integrity and confidence.

Wine knowledge from vineyard to table.

Analytical and relationship‑building skills to meet and exceed revenue goals.

Proficiency with CRM tools and experience in the relevant industry.

Leadership and communication skills for team motivation and distributor collaboration.

Additional Requirements

Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and compliance with company insurance requirements.

Ability to forge strong professional relationships quickly.

Physical Requirements

Sit for extended periods up to 10–12 hours.

Ability to walk in indoor and outdoor manufacturing environments.

May be required to package items, lift, push, and carry boxes up to 20 lbs.

Ability to stoop, bend, climb, knead, crouch, and twist.

Ability to ascend and descend ramps, steps, ladders, and stairs using three‑point contact.

Hours and Workdays
Shift: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday–Friday. Weekends and nights may be mandatory based on business needs.

Work Environment
Personal protective equipment required: side shield safety glasses, safety vest, head/ear protection, and proper footwear in the production facility.
