About The Role
As the Creative Director, Web, you are the visionary behind Google’s digital front door. You operate at the intersection of brand storytelling and cutting‑edge web technology. This role is for a digital storyteller who turns a website into an immersive brand experience.
You will drive the creative vision for high‑visibility marketing sites, product launch pages, and interactive digital experiences. You are obsessed with pixel perfection, steeped in emerging web trends (WebGL, micro‑interactions, motion), and capable of translating the Google brand into digital environments that are both functional and magical. You will set the vision, guide the team, and dive into the design files to ensure every pixel meets "Google Grade."
Responsibilities
Web Vision & Digital Storytelling
- Lead the creation of flashy, high‑impact marketing websites and digital experiences, bridging the gap between interaction design and strategic marketing.
- Understand product and user deeply, connecting them through intuitive UI and delightful UX that feels distinctly Google.
- Champion new web technologies and motion design, creating experiences that feel alive, responsive, and innovative.
Craft, Quality & Google Grade
- Maintain uncompromising visual excellence, ensuring hierarchy, typography, and layout are flawless across all viewports.
- Lead by designing; jump into Figma to refine components, direct motion studies, or push concepts further.
- Ensure flashy experiences can scale and align with broader web governance, understanding design systems.
Client Partnership & Strategy
- Present digital work to clients, articulating the "why" behind complex interaction models and design choices.
- Partner with strategists to ensure web experiences meet business KPIs without sacrificing creativity.
AI & Innovation
- Explore how AI can enhance web design workflows, from generating layout variations to creating assets for prototypes.
About You
The essentials
- 10+ years of digital design experience, with focus on marketing websites, microsites, and interactive storytelling; 3+ years in a leadership role.
- A portfolio demonstrating high‑end web design (Awwwards‑caliber work) with rich UI, fluid UX, and strong motion sensibilities.
- Deep expertise in UI/UX principles and site architecture; understand capabilities of HTML/CSS/JS/WebGL to communicate with developers.
- Expert‑level proficiency in Figma and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite; knowledge of Protopie, Principle is a plus.
- Proven ability to command a room and present creative work with confidence and strategic clarity.

Salary Range: $170,000—$190,000 USD
