Position Overview
The Multimedia Communications Specialist, Intermediate is responsible for writing, designing, and developing materials to support use and adoption of university technology tools, IT services, and innovation initiatives.
Working under the supervision of the IIT Director of Communications, the position collaborates with subject matter experts, technology systems administrators, and other communications team members to develop technical documentation, knowledgebase articles, web pages, graphics, visualizations, video learning materials, and interactive multimedia content that meets university standards.
NOTE:
This role requires on‑site work. Remote or hybrid work options are not available.
Key Responsibilities
Knowledge and Support Content Creation:
Create and organize technology support knowledgebase content in the online service desk tool and across digital and physical systems to increase awareness of services and improve ease of access to solutions.
Multimedia Design and Production:
Design and produce professional-quality written and multimedia materials to meet the specifications of project stakeholders. Create and integrate text, video, audio, graphics, data visualizations, and interactive multimedia to support development of technology solutions and use of technology.
Project Assistance and Operational Support:
Work individually and collaboratively to meet project deadlines and defined project goals. Organize and prioritize tasks to support team-based technology projects. Communicate project progress, issues, and updates in a timely and professional manner and assist with the assessment.
Outreach:
Attend and support campus outreach events on departmental services and solutions to students, faculty and staff.
Research:
Research trends and technology in the areas of direct expertise to ensure production of work comparable with highest technology industry standards.
Qualifications
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
Familiarity with webpage and/or knowledgebase tools.
