Responsibilities
Design, develop, configure, test, and maintain HL7 real-time interfaces and Epic Bridges between Epic and other healthcare systems.
Test and validate interface functionality to ensure reliable data exchange.
Troubleshoot and resolve interface‑related issues.
Monitor interface performance and recommend improvements.
Gather and document business requirements; translate them into technical specifications.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and align solutions with operational needs.
Assist with software upgrades, patches, and system enhancements; conduct end‑to‑end testing and develop test plans.
Provide technical support to end users and operational teams; conduct training and develop user documentation.
Manage interface‑related projects, coordinate with cross‑functional teams and vendors, track progress, and communicate status updates.
Perform additional duties related to software upgrades, testing new functionality, vendor support, data flow analysis, and process improvement as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least four years of experience developing interfaces.
At least two years of experience developing interfaces within an Epic environment.
At least two years of experience supporting Epic Bridges.
Experience with HL7 interface development and healthcare system integrations.
Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with technical, operational, and clinical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Six years of experience in interface development and healthcare IT.
ITIL Foundation certification.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience supporting healthcare interoperability initiatives.
Experience working with healthcare integration and data exchange standards.
Licenses / Certifications
Required: Epic Certification in Interface Development.
Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Salary
$90,000+ depending on qualifications.
Working Conditions
