This is a contractor / outsourced engagement designed for a self-motivated sales professional who enjoys prospecting, engaging business owners, and converting new opportunities in a fast-moving marketplace environment.


About the Role

We are looking for Account Executive (Contract) to support a high-priority US seller growth initiative. In this role, you will identify, engage, qualify, and convert US-based manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, brand owners, and e-commerce sellers who may benefit from expanding their B2B sales channels through Alibaba.com.

This opportunity is a strong fit for someone with B2B sales, marketplace seller acquisition, SMB sales, or e-commerce growth experience who is comfortable owning outreach and follow-up, running discovery conversations, and driving measurable sales outcomes.


What You’ll Do

  • Prospect and engage US-based manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, brand owners, and e-commerce sellers with strong fit for Alibaba.com’s Local Supplier Membership.
  • Build and manage your own outbound pipeline through email, phone, LinkedIn, and other approved channels.
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand prospects’ business model, product categories, wholesale readiness, growth goals, and pain points.
  • Present Alibaba.com’s value proposition and membership offering in a clear, relevant, and compelling way.
  • Manage follow-up conversations and move qualified prospects through the sales funnel toward conversion.
  • Partner with internal teams on pricing questions, product feedback, onboarding handoff, and seller needs.
  • Track outreach activity, pipeline progress, conversion status, and seller feedback in the agreed CRM or reporting format.
  • Share structured market insights, including seller objections, category opportunities, competitor references, and feedback on messaging or packaging.


What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, marketplace seller acquisition, SaaS sales, SMB sales, or e-commerce growth.
  • Experience selling to or working with manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, Amazon sellers, Shopify merchants, D2C brands, or marketplace sellers is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to prospect, qualify, pitch, follow up, handle objections, and convert new business opportunities.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort engaging prospects through phone, email, LinkedIn, and video calls.
  • Self-driven, organized, and comfortable working independently in a contractor setup with clear activity and performance goals.
  • Familiarity with CRM and sales tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Apollo, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Clay, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Interest in B2B commerce, wholesale, marketplaces, cross-border trade, and e-commerce is preferred.

Engagement Notice

This is a contractor / outsourced engagement and not a full-time employee position. The role is remote within the United States only and does not include employee benefits.


Compensation

Compensation includes a competitive monthly contractor retainer, expected range $4,000–$6,000, plus performance-based commission tied to agreed business outcomes.
