Overview
The Advertising team oversees all advertising for Con Edison and our subsidiary, Orange & Rockland. Our team is responsible for over 30 campaign launches every year, supporting our largest corporate efforts as well as customer and gas operations, energy efficiency initiatives, and the adoption of electric vehicles.

We are looking for an Advertising Manager to work cross‑functionally to create targeted advertising campaigns that educate and engage customers about Con Edison’s initiatives and programs. This role is a critical stakeholder in the development of tactical media campaigns—including media strategy, execution, reporting, and optimization—and collaborates across the marketing and communications teams to ensure advertising aligns with broader communications strategies.

Core Responsibilities

Manage campaign launches from initial briefing, through strategy, concepting, production, media planning, execution, and reporting.

Manage a Senior Specialist focused on production reporting.

Provide mentoring and career growth opportunities to direct reports.

Share knowledge and experience with direct reports and across Marketing/Corporate Affairs departments.

Write and review briefs at the start of each campaign or project.

Promote an integrated advertising team, encouraging full participation for fully integrated strategic work.

Serve as the primary point of contact for agencies.

Lead media strategy, planning, execution, and optimization of paid media across Video, Social, Audio, Publishing, Programmatic, and Search.

Take lead on corporate production, approving budgets, initiating feedback, reviewing previews and final assets.

Drive media measurement reporting, linking to KPI metrics and providing optimization recommendations and pacing insights.

Take ownership of Con Edison accounts, including LiveRamp, Meta, Google Ads, and LinkedIn.

Review all documentation for accuracy—including creative previews, media plans, flowcharts, budgeting, and proof of performance—and resolve issues with agencies.

Assist with monthly budgets, reviewing, processing, and approving advertising invoices and billing.

Support advertising production by coordinating photo and video shoots and serving as a company representative onsite.

Work closely with Marketing Insights & Analytics to implement best‑in‑class measurement, including dashboards and ad‑hoc reports.

Assist in preparing reports for leadership and stakeholders.

Ensure compliance and consistency with the Con Edison brand across initiatives.

Continuously explore opportunities to enhance advertising through meetings, research, webinars, conferences, and industry participation.

Identify opportunities to collaborate with cross‑functional marketing teams for cohesive campaign results.

Required Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.

Relevant Work Experience

Minimum 8 years of experience, with 6+ years in progressive roles in advertising, media, marketing, brand strategy, activation, communications, consulting, operations, or program management.

3–5 years of experience managing a team, preferred.

Experience evaluating and producing creative for both traditional and digital channels.

Experience in omni‑channel paid media planning and strategy, including both traditional and digital channels.

Strong problem‑solving skills.

Independent judgment, critical thinking, and initiative.

Collaborative team member with experience in a highly integrated environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Co‑pilot).

Knowledge of Adobe Workfront, Oracle, Google tools including GA4 and Looker Studio, preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Agency billing and accounts payable experience, preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

Driver’s License required.

Physical Demands

Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Ability to sit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workday.

Stand to use or operate office equipment for the duration of the workday.

Ability to read small print and symbols.

Work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Physical Demands

The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment and will work non‑business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to customers.
