Role Overview
The Specialty Sales Area Manager reports directly into the Area VP of Specialty Sales and plays a pivotal role in the US commercial launch of the Mynx Venous Closure Device, a mid‑bore closure technology competing with incumbent products on the market. In this role you will drive hyper‑growth and utilization of this novel technology within your defined geography, partnering with clinicians, cross‑functional teams, and customers to deliver product training and education.

Responsibilities

Drive new business for the Mynx Vascular Closure franchise with a primary emphasis on the Mynx Control Venous Closure Device, targeting high‑volume EP physicians and hospitals.

Lead the US commercial launch of the Mynx Venous Closure Device and oversee its market adoption.

Demonstrate outstanding product knowledge, clinical data understanding, competing product awareness, and industry trend insight.

Engage in clinical selling by partnering with physicians, nurses, technologists, and staff in EP labs and cardiac catheterization laboratories.

Cold‑call, prospect, and build relationships to increase account penetration, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction across product lines and regions.

Apply technical knowledge to perform varied tasks, identify solutions to technical problems, and take action to resolve challenges.

Exercise judgment within defined parameters, ensuring sound reasoning and accuracy of work.

Receive general guidance and, where appropriate, detailed instruction on new projects.

Conduct consultative sales calls with interventional cardiologists, EP physicians, and EP staff.

Collaborate effectively with Cordis leadership, cross‑functional teams, and field‑based counterparts such as regional directors, associate territory managers, CET team members, marketing product managers, key account directors, and senior leaders.

Provide customer feedback, competitive intelligence, environmental shifts, and industry learnings to Sales, Marketing, and other cross‑functional leadership to support strategy and operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.

Minimum 5 years of sales experience and 3+ years of medical device sales experience with a record of exceeding quota.

Experience selling medical devices in EP labs and with vascular closure devices preferred.

Familiarity with PC applications and MS Office applications.

Proficiency with virtual meeting software.

Willingness and ability to travel as required by the territory.

Must reside within the territory and be ready to travel for commitments.

Valid driver’s license.
