Overview

Section Editors are responsible for the entire production and final product of their respective section. The paper comes out monthly.
Responsibilities

Gather story ideas for every issue.
Assign stories to writers.
Write headlines for your stories.
Ensure all editorial content is based on verifiable facts.
Arrive prepared and on time for weekly meetings.
Communicate with the Layout/Design Editor about your section.
Qualifications

Education Requirements:

HS Diploma or GED.
Experience Requirements:

Newsroom experience preferred. Good spoken English skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Willingness to learn.
Knowledge:

Knowledge of AP Style preferred.
Skills:

Excellent written communication skills.
Personal Requirements:

Ability to work as part of a team.
