Job Responsibilities
Responsible for generating revenue by promoting sales of new and existing company products, providing customer service, evaluating customer needs, and answering questions regarding parts, pricing, and services.
Personally greet every customer as they walk through the door and maintain friendly contact throughout their shopping experience.
Provide relevant information on warranties, price, quality of parts, delivery times, and payment methods.
Complete internal documents supporting any transaction (credits, invoices, work order and/or interchange and returns, etc.).
Prospect and develop relationships with potential customers to cultivate new business.
Inform customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer.
Advise customers on substitution or modification of part when part requested is not available.
Process orders – perform order entry, review orders for correct handling, pricing, quantities, and shipping data (may dispatch orders in some locations).
Coordinate orders from the warehouse to ensure customers’ orders are ready in a timely fashion to achieve an excellent level of customer service.
Sort and place parts and supplies on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
Maintain orderliness and housekeeping of assigned work areas.
Maintain orderly files and clean records of all transactions, as well as an accurate cash drawer.
Assume other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Not responsible for supervising employees.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED. 1+ years of related experience required.
Required skills: strong customer service background and effective communication. Bilingual English/Spanish – fluency.
Preferred Requirements
College coursework or degree.
Prior automotive experience and knowledge of automotive parts.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
Basic computer skills.
Basic communication: orally, brief written messages, maintain simple records, explain routine procedures.
Problem solving: routine, repetitive, following clear directions. Decisions affect own job or assigned area. Set personal goals with limited guidelines. Prioritize and handle assigned tasks.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
Occasionally stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods of time.
May be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, equipment, extreme temperatures, high noise levels.
May need to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles; may get into awkward positions.
May wear personal protective equipment (PPE) regularly.
May need to lift or move up to 75 pounds.
Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
