Programs Coordinator

Job Overview
Loudoun County Government, located in Leesburg, VA, is hiring a full‑time Programs Coordinator. Salary ranges from $64,586.76 to $109,797.50 annually.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement and maintain programming policies, procedures, standards, and evaluation systems.

Create and coordinate internal and external community engagement events, workshops, and informational sessions.

Lead program staff training initiatives such as the Programmer Summit, Programmer Bootcamp, Programmer Calls, and Camp Coalition programs.

Maintain program data and revenue documentation.

Serve as the contract administrator for Specialized Programs and Camp Instructor contracts.

Collaborate with marketing and communications staff to review and edit program‑related materials, including the Activity Guide, PRCS Connect, PRCS website, and social media.

Stay informed about national, regional and local park and recreation agency developments.

Facilitate department‑wide program registration efforts.

Coordinate across PRCS and other county departments (e.g., planning, parks, facilities).

Perform additional critical responsibilities as assigned.

Work evenings, weekends or holidays as required by programming needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Park and Recreation, Marketing, Public Relations, Public Administration or related field.

Two years of related work experience, including at least one year of supervisory or lead experience.

Experience in programming recreation classes and events.

Experience in marketing or communications supporting public programming.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to build cooperative work relationships.

Knowledge of established methods and guidelines for recreation programming.

Experience with a recreation registration system such as RecTrac.

Two or more years of local government or programming‑specific experience.

CPRP certification preferred.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
Must undergo criminal, credit and DMV background checks. A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
