Adjunct Faculty – Digital Multimedia Design (Web Design)

Responsibilities
- Teaching responsibilities include courses in: Web design, Digital Media design and image processing.
- Design courses to meet learning outcomes and promote students’ active participation in their own learning.
- Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’ intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem‑solve using discipline‑specific thinking strategies.
- Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and the attainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.
- Help students reach their academic, personal and career goals and foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people and ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidence in every student’s ability to learn.
- Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academic and professional communities, and promote collaboration and teamwork among members of these communities.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree/MFA in interactive design, new media or related discipline required.
- Professional Experience/Expertise in Design/Web design or related field; 4 years’ industry or business applied experience in the teaching subject area. Candidates must demonstrate this with portfolio & work samples.
- Special consideration may be given to a candidate with a combination of Bachelor’s degree in interactive design, new media or related discipline and 10+ years of professional industry or business applied experience in Web design/development field demonstrated through CV, portfolio & work samples.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Photoshop, Animate; HTML, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap & jQuery.
- Previous teaching experience in an academic environment.
- Knowledge of Brightspace preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with a diverse group of staff and students.
- Experience with a diverse, multi‑lingual student population is desired, as is a commitment to the open‑access mission of the community college.

Salary
Salary: $800.00 per contact hour (determined by applicant’s education, knowledge, skills, and abilities).
