Job Summary
The Event Technology Support II provides event technology support for a variety of event types. The position collaborates with event hosts offering advice to ensure that the audiovisual needs for an event are addressed prior to the event. The Event Technology Support II supports an event through several stages including pre-planning, planning, preparation and setup, delivery, and breakdown. The position conducts regular maintenance checks and makes recommendations for equipment and system replacements creating a proactive approach to maintaining the audiovisual experience in event spaces. The position provides documentation and training for event hosts. The position documents issues, contributes solutions, and manages incidents and service requests using IT service management (ITSM) best practices. The Event Technology Support II assists with vendor engagements. The position may work non-standard hours or alternate schedules.

Responsibilities

Respond to incidents and service requests to support events; document issues and contribute solutions to support learning spaces using ITSM best practices.

Collaborate with event hosts to support the audiovisual needs of an event through several stages including pre-planning, planning, preparation and setup, delivery, and breakdown. This includes support for operating and switching between cameras, managing microphones for multiple speakers, and operating moving lights.

Operate audiovisual equipment during events to allow for streaming or recording services as desired.

Conduct regular maintenance checks of event spaces creating a proactive approach to support. Install or repair equipment as needed.

Create documentation and conduct training as needed.

Assist with vendor management, including assisting with projects and holding vendors accountable for work completed and adherence to warranty and support agreements.

Collaborate with units across the college to support event technology.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

2 Year / Associate Degree in related field

3 or more years of relevant experience; equivalent experience in lieu of education will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in related field such as Information Technology.

Experience working at GGC

Demonstrated experience with theatrical lighting for live events such as plays, graduations, or recitals.

Demonstrated experience supporting and troubleshooting control systems such as Crestron or Extron.

Experience working in education.

Audiovisual licenses and computer certifications.

Demonstrated experience supporting events.

Demonstrated experience with trouble shooting technical issues.
Proposed Salary
42,100 - 50,500

Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Familiarity with audiovisual equipment such as projectors, microphones, and cameras.

Familiarity with lighting and sound systems commonly used to support events.

Familiarity with supporting and troubleshooting audiovisual control systems such as Crestron or Extron.

Familiarity with common productivity and presentation applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Express, and Keynote.

Familiarity with common web conferencing solutions/streaming options such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Facebook Live.

Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems.

Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to utilize problem solving skills.

Ability to communicate best practice approaches for using technology to support events.
