Job Description
As a Salon Business Consultant, you will serve as a consulting and relationship-building specialist, covering and growing a territory in and around Greensboro, Asheboro, Kernersville, High Point, Winston Salem, North Carolina. The position is full‑time, uncapped commission, vehicle reimbursement plan, and full benefits. Ideal candidates reside in or near the listed cities.

Essential Function
Salon/Beauty Industry experience highly preferred.

Primary Duties

Grow the Business:

Identify key accounts within the territory and develop an efficient route to enhance existing customers while seeking new partnerships.

Demonstrate and assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and tracking in‑salon promotions and programs.

Determine customers’ needs and offer appropriate products and services.

Communicate sales initiatives through vendor partnerships to achieve corporate sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Respond to email, text, and phone communication within 24 hours.

Analyze accounts to determine needed brand support, education, and promotions.

Call on customers in person to execute established sales goals.

Strictly comply with return processing procedures and complete required documentation promptly.

Collaborate with all business functions, including customer service, accounts receivable, IT, and others as needed.

Prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and other digital outlets.

Manage all administrative aspects of the role promptly, including daily order entry and regular maintenance of customer information in Salesforce.com.

Attract and retain salon clientele using social media as a communication, promotion, education, and product knowledge platform.

Conduct effective in‑person and virtual product knowledge classes.

Communicate with the Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, sales progress, follow‑up plans, and assistance needed.

Grow Team and Culture:

Serve as a subject matter expert on digital platforms and social media to grow the business and share knowledge with peers.

Attend all meetings, functions, and events and maintain regular contact as established by the Company or Supervisor.

Be available to attend shows, set up and dismantle displays, handle back stock, and perform other required physical activities.

Support new initiatives with a growth mindset and foster positive change management within the team.

Grow Yourself:

Exhibit a desire to learn, continuously improve, and grow digital and social media techniques to generate new customers and foster existing relationships.

Schedule and attend business development days (BDD) to increase product knowledge and develop vendor relationships.

Allocate and optimize time to participate in learning using all available tools and resources.

Remain agile to market changes while building industry knowledge and intuition to react competitively.

Actively increase personal product, industry, and market knowledge.

Create an organized work environment and workflow to serve customers efficiently.

Experience and Skills Required

High school diploma or equivalent certification.

Minimum of one year outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with emphasis on consultative selling.

Must live within the assigned territory.

Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising strongly preferred.

Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms to build pipelines and business needs.

Excellent computer skills, familiarity with Salesforce.com, Outlook, PDF Expert, Oracle, and experience with iPad a plus.

Ability to build an online community and create social connections using search engines and internet tools.

Travel within the territory; attendance at shows, conventions, and educational events may include overnight travel and/or weekend nights.

Ability to work safely and stay alert in a constant state of alertness.

Frequent and often prolonged driving periods necessary.

Committed to scheduled hours with flexibility for additional hours as business needs change.

Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Ability to present a professional business image and interact positively with the public.

Strong oral and written communication skills at all levels.
