Account Specialist – Remote (Minnesota)
The Account Specialist is responsible for maintaining strong customer satisfaction and long‑term retention of Axalta’s customers within a market. As a member of the regional sales team, the specialist partners with coatings customers to foster their success by ensuring all elements of the business agreement are delivered.
Compensation & Benefits
$75,000 – $95,000 annually plus a sales incentive target of 30%. Eligible for health insurance, paid time off, and other company benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Acts as primary point of contact for identified customers and builds strong, collaborative relationships
Understands key elements of the business agreement with each customer
Develops and executes account plans capturing the product, color, and services needs of the customer
Communicates the values and benefits of Axalta’s product, color, and services
Engages appropriate resources to meet unique customer needs
Maintains an organized communication approach with a regular customer call schedule and documents interactions in Salesforce (SFDC)
Follows up on issues in a timely manner and identifies process improvements to alleviate roadblocks
Prioritizes tasks and contributes to regional team results for revenue, profitability, customer retention, and distributor management with a high sense of urgency
Provides support on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensures customers are aware of education and support available through Axalta Training Classes and Local Performance Groups
Leads paint conversion efforts and solicits distribution resources to support the customer
Maintains accurate account information and contact data in Salesforce (SFDC)
Utilizes appropriate technological resources (SharePoint, Salesforce, MS Office, etc.) to enhance productivity and communication
Job Requirements
Experienced sales professional with automotive refinish background and a strong track record of successful customer support
Bachelor’s degree and/or at least 3–5 years of automotive refinish industry experience
Strong knowledge of collision repair, commercial transportation, and industrial business environments and distribution fundamentals
Working knowledge of Axalta’s core product lines and repair shop business fundamentals
Ability to identify customer needs and respond quickly to resolve problems using a collaborative approach
Self‑disciplined and able to perform effectively in unstructured and autonomous conditions
Professional demeanor throughout all organizational levels; considers impact on customers
Strong team player seeking opportunities to support territory activities and meet customer needs
Effective written and oral communication skills
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time
