Associate Account Executive – Disney Entertainment
The Associate Account Executive (AAE) serves as the sales support partner to Account Executives (AE) within Disney Entertainment, focusing on generating new business, retaining existing clients, and expanding across both multimedia and addressable products in Disney’s portfolio of properties, including ABC, Disney, ESPN, Hulu, Freeform FX, Nat Geo, and domestic broadcast networks.
Overview
As a rising sales lead, the AAE is empowered to drive momentum in both addressable and multimedia revenue, working under local management guidance. The role sits with the Local Strategic Partnerships team and focuses on prospecting, cold calling, and delivering net new business within Disney’s local‑market portfolio, which includes ABC Owned Stations, cross‑portfolio geo‑targeted streaming, unwired linear tent‑pole campaigns, and more.
Responsibilities
Coordinate pre‑sales activities including answering RFPs, creating pitches, and collaborating with marketing and planning teams to deliver presentations and deck completions.
Identify new opportunities for clients proactively before an RFP is issued and partner with Insights to incorporate qualitative data.
Lead sales efforts on specific accounts, including building plans, pitching, and executing selling activities.
Deliver “white glove” client service throughout active campaigns, coordinating with marketing, ad opportunities, and research teams to ensure on‑time delivery of all campaign elements.
Prepare deal memos, enable playbook creation for large campaigns, and lead weekly status calls or emails on campaign reporting.
Coordinate with ad opportunities on liability, delivery, booking, scheduling, CPM alignment, and sponsorship execution to secure revenue recognition.
Support post‑sales, working with the AE to secure renewals and foster continued business relationships; coordinate recap deeds, custom studies, and reporting.
Maintain accurate sales and client status records, track meetings, closed deals, and client interactions on a weekly basis.
Collaborate with DAS category vertical teams, sales planners, and other stakeholders for insights and to grow business across sports, broadcast, entertainment streaming, social, and digital deals.
Prospect, qualify, and develop new client relationships across various product portfolios.
Stay current on video advertising trends, industry innovations, and competitive updates, sharing insights with the team.
Contribute to a culture of inclusion and uphold DAS values.
Qualifications
4+ years of relevant experience within linear and/or digital advertising platforms.
Proficiency in media mathematics and analysis with the ability to manipulate data for presentations.
Strategic thinking with an aptitude for analyzing data and translating insights into measurable tactics.
Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.
Understanding of client priorities and performance goals, and how to align Disney product offerings to meet those needs.
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities; capable of multitasking and managing projects at entrepreneurial speed.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary ranges vary by location: Santa Monica, CA and Chicago, IL ($95,500–$128,000/yr); New York, NY ($100,100–$134,200/yr); Atlanta, GA ($91,000–$121,900/yr). The base pay is determined by internal equity and may differ by candidate skill set and geographic region. Bonus or long‑term incentive units may be offered, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, financial, and other perks.
