Fine Jewelry Consultant

Nestled quietly above the bustle of Tribeca in lower Manhattan, SKJ’s New York City showroom operates by appointment only, offering a warm, intimate space where clients can explore our full collection and connect deeply with our brand’s point of view. Facing our in-house studio—where a small, highly skilled team of artisans handcrafts our jewelry—each consultation is hosted as a private, one-on-one experience rooted in thoughtful guidance, trust, and genuine connection. We take great pride in going beyond sales to celebrate the joy and meaning our jewelry brings to everyday life.

Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, this position is focused on driving sales and delivering an exceptional, relationship-driven client experience. The Fine Jewelry Consultant serves as a key point of connection between our clients and our collections, combining deep product knowledge, clear communication, and attentive service to support showroom and sales operations. This role supports revenue growth and client satisfaction through consistent, high-quality consultations within established systems and guidelines.

Demonstrated comfort leading detailed, consultative conversations around value, customization, and long-term investment pieces

Strong communication and listening skills (written and verbal), with the ability to confidently engage clients and internal partners

Calm, mature, and professional demeanor; well-suited to emotionally significant, time-sensitive client decisions

Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while adhering to established systems and guidelines

Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment

Proactive, can-do attitude with strong problem-solving skills

Professional, reliable, and punctual with strong self-management skills

Proficiency in Google Workspace, Shopify, and CRM tools (HubSpot preferred)

Familiarity with the SKJ brand and products, or the ability to quickly develop deep product knowledge

Graduate Gemologist (GG) certification is a strong plus

Must be available to work multiple evenings per week (after 7pm) with flexibility to work weekends as needed

Primary Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients, with a primary focus on bridal-focused consultations, including engagement and wedding clients

Identify sales opportunities and implement thoughtful, client-centered strategies to meet or exceed sales goals

Schedule and conduct in-person consultations; send timely, detailed appointment notes and follow-ups

Manage order processing from submission through delivery, including tracking lead times, shipments, and coordination with production

Use our CRM to document client interactions, manage follow-ups, and maintain accurate, up-to-date records

Monitor finished jewelry inventory in collaboration with the sales team, including stock organization, condition assessments, cycle counts, and inventory-related decision support

Support periodic open showroom events that are not appointment-based, engaging multiple clients while maintaining SKJ’s service standards
