Position Summary
The VP of Sales is responsible for originating, developing, and closing new event business for AMS Events. This is a relationship-driven, hunter-style role focused on building a strong client pipeline, securing signed contracts, and growing revenue across the DFW market and beyond. Once a deal is closed, our production team handles execution — keeping the VP of Sales focused on business development and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Prospect, develop, and close new client relationships across corporate events, entertainment, and production verticals

Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through signed contract

Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities using CRM tools

Represent AMS Events at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions across DFW and nationally

Execute a clean handoff to the production and operations team at contract signing, ensuring all client expectations and event details are clearly communicated

Develop and maintain relationships with venues, agencies, planners, and referral partners

Meet and exceed monthly and annual revenue targets as set by the General Manager

Provide regular pipeline updates, forecasting, and activity reports to the General Manager

Qualifications

5+ years of B2B or event industry sales experience, with a proven track record of closing large-scale contracts

Experience in event production, AV, entertainment, or a related industry strongly preferred

Established network within the DFW events and entertainment market

Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills — comfortable at all levels from coordinator to C‑suite

Self-directed and pipeline-driven; able to manage a full sales cycle independently without close oversight

Proficiency with CRM platforms and standard business tools

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where no two events are the same
