Job purpose
The Media Manager is responsible for the strategy, and execution, and optimization of Hodo’s Foods’ media presence across all channels—paid, earned, owned, and digital. This is a broad, channel-agnostic role that sits at the intersection of media strategy, content distribution, and data‑brand. This role ensures Hodo’s story reaches the right audiences through the right channels at the right time.
The Media Manager oversees channel execution across owned media (email, website, social media including influencer and content creator partnerships and other digital), retail media, social media, paid advertising, retail media networks, email, earned media including PR, influencer partnerships, digital content, and out-of-home or experiential media as relevant. The Media Manager manages vendors and agencies, as necessary. All media activity must be grounded in Hodo’s overall company strategy, brand objectives, and commercial priorities. The ideal candidate is a strategic, highly analytical, data‑driven, tech‑savvy and AI‑literate individual with deep experience in media management. They are equally comfortable balancing setting a media planning with campaign execution strategy and rolling up their sleeves to execute it. They bring a strong tech fluency, and are eager to integrate AI‑enabled tools to maximize efficiency. They have an analytical mindset, a deep understanding of the modern media landscape, and a genuine passion for food and mission‑driven brands. Duties and responsibilities
Integrated Media Planning & Budgets:
Develop and execute manage Hodo’s cross-channel integrated media plan (across paid, earned, owned) , and shared channels, ensuring all strategies are aligned alignment with overall company growth objectives, and brand strategy. Translate brand and campaign objectives into audience targeting approaches and media mix recommendations that maximize reach, engagement, and ROI.Manage the media budget, and monitor spend to ensure efficient allocation of spend to maximize impact and ROI.
Paid Media & Retail Media Network (RMN) ManagementExecution & Optimization:
Plan, execute, and optimize paid media and retail media campaigns across digital platforms and programmatic channels including Google Ads, Instacart & Amazon Ads, and other retail‑specific digital ad portals. Manage budgets, bidding strategies, creative testing, and performance reporting to drive ROAS and other campaign KPIs campaign metrics to ensure spend is driving brand awareness, sales and velocity.
Content Strategy & Calendar Management:
Build and maintain a unified content and media calendar that coordinates activity across owned and paid channels media. Develop content for brand campaigns, product launches, seasonal moments, and key sales retail or foodservice initiatives working closely with Hodo’s creative leads, and/or external vendors/agencies
Social Media Management, Creator Partnerships & Email Management:
Working with influencer/creator agencies and Hodo’s creative & copy leads/vendors:
Social Media: Oversee Hodo’s presence across all social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram,Facebook, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. Ensure consistent brand voice, posting cadence, and community engagement across channels. Monitor platform trends and algorithm changes to keep strategy current and effective.
Influencer & Creator Partnerships:
Develop and manage an influencer and creator program that authentically extends Hodo’s reach within the culinary and wellness space– from scouting, negotiating, and briefing creators and ensuring high quality deliverables.
Email Management: Own Hodo’s email marketing channel end- to‑end, from strategy and list growth to campaign execution, copywriting, and performance analysis, leveraging content and assets from social media channel
Website & Digital Content:
Oversee the planning and publishing of digital content including campaign landing pages, recipe content, blog posts, and GEO/SEO‑driven website updates. Coordinate with vendors, recipe creators,, photographers, web developer, and the Hodo creative leads to ensure timely and high‑quality content delivery.
Data Analytics & Reporting: Own all media KPIs (ROAS, conversion, engagement, reach, etc.).and performance reporting across all media channels. Track and analyze key metrics including reach, impressions, engagement, conversion, and media spend efficiency. Translate data into actionable insights and present regular performance updates to leadershipsenior executives and the Brand Director and broader brand & marketing team.Provide media insights that inform product launches, promotions, and go‑to‑market strategies.
AI‑Driven Efficiency:
Actively utilize and experiment with AI tools and workflow automations (e.g., Gemini/Claude, Zapier, Canva Studio) to accelerate campaign execution e.g., in copywriting, data analysis, asset scaling, etc.
Experiential & Event Media:
Support brand presence at farmers markets, trade shows, consumer & culinary events, and experiential activations by coordinating media capture, live content, and post‑event amplification across channels.
Budget Management:
Manage the media budget across channels, ensuring efficient allocation of spend to maximize impact and ROI. Monitor pacing, reconcile invoices, and provide regular budget updates to leadership.
Vendor & Agency Management:
Manage relationships with media vendors, agencies, platforms, and technology partners. Evaluate and onboard new tools and platforms as the media landscape evolves.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
Partner with the Sales teams, creative leads, and the other Brand & Marketing leads, .
multi Work closely with the Head of Marketing, culinary business development, and sales teams to ensure all media activity is anchored in overall company strategy and supports broader brand, retail, and foodservice goals.
Qualifications
Broad understanding of the modern media landscape across paid, earned, owned, and shared channels, with hands‑on execution experience across multiple channel types.
Digitally literate and technologically proficient, including familiarity with AI tools, AI‑enabled marketing software, workflow automation tools, etc. (e.g., Claude, Gemini, Canva, Zapier, etc.).
Highly analytical mindset with strong data literacy, able to interpret multi‑channel performance data, and translate it into clear insights and recommendations.
Proven experience managing paid digital media campaigns across Meta, Google, Amazon, TikTokwith a track record of hitting performance targets.
Strong social media platform knowledge with the ability to develop channel strategies and manage day‑to‑day execution.
Familiarity with influencer and creator management including sourcing, contracting, campaign management, managing related agencies Experience owning email marketing programs including list management, campaign execution, and performance optimization.
Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace and standard marketing and media platforms.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously across channels.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting performance data and media strategy to leadership.
Self‑motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven hybrid environment.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
5–7 years of experience in media and retail media management, digital marketing or integrated marketing, with demonstrated ownership across multiple channel types.
Experience working in CPG, food & beverage, or lifestyle brand environments preferred; specialty or natural food experience a strong plus.
Proficiency in paid media platforms (Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, TikTok Ads), email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo), and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker, or similar BI tools).
Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Later) and content management systems (CMS).
Familiarity with agile or project management platforms such as Asana or Monday.com.
Experience managing media budgets and working with selecting and managing external vendors or agencies.

Requirements
Ability to pass all background checks and meet legal employment requirements. Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Sheets) and standard marketing and media platforms.
Experience with or willingness to learn digital asset management (DAM) systems, shopper marketing platforms, Eventbrite, Google Business, and relevant online retail portals.
