Program Coordinator (RISE) - 2887
Position: Program Coordinator for the RISE Grant, working as a coordinator of program activities funded by the grant. This is a time‑limited, grant‑funded position through January 31, 2030.

Responsibilities

Assist U‑RISE and COMPASS Program Directors in administering programs.

Plan strategies to achieve stated program goals, e.g., generate a pool of strong student researchers for graduate education.

Direct advertising, recruiting, and collaboration efforts across campus.

Serve as the primary contact for U‑RISE and COMPASS business at UNCP and beyond.

Monitor student progress toward academic and research goals; hold progress meetings and oversee training workshops and seminars.

Administer grant budget, run Banner reports, maintain internal accounts records, and submit track purchases and inventory.

Coordinate with external program evaluator to ensure fellows and mentors comply with evaluation procedures.

Aid in generating and submitting grant reports (e.g., X‑Train, RPPR). Maintain and update website, social media sites, and create quarterly newsletter.

Arrange student travel for conferences, symposia, and graduate school tours; accompany students on trips (infrequent).

Perform clerical tasks and other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, STEM, or Social/Behavioral Science.

Experience implementing state and federal funded programs and designing, implementing, and evaluating continuing education programs.

Strong communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.

Experience working effectively with faculty, staff, individual clients, and community members.

Preferred: One year or more of supervisory experience with young adults/students; Master’s degree appreciated.
