Position Summary
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for day‑to‑day site operations, including supervising warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product, planning inbound and outbound volume, customer communication, space utilization, and equipment management. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, labor management planning, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems.
This position is slated to cover Shift 1: 8am - 5pm, Monday‑Friday. Ability to be flexible with time is expected.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably.
Manage operations to meet productivity and service goals, complying with client SLAs.
Drive continuous improvement efforts and provide ideas for more efficient operations and cost savings.
Meet all client specified KPI’s and comply with quality system requirements.
Manage operations to achieve prescribed objectives, applying strong communication and motivational techniques.
Collaborate with Human Resources to create hiring, training, and professional development programs and support performance evaluations.
Deliver results by leveraging the skills of the right people at the right time.
Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues.
Plan daily work schedule by reviewing work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions; assess priorities and assign duties.
Review current volume demands to plan for reorganization of warehouse space and adjust supply or staffing levels.
Ensure effective training is delivered to team members by qualified individuals and that SOPs are followed.
Maintain high motivation within the team to provide outstanding customer satisfaction.
Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members.
Support adherence to standard operating procedures.
Conduct routine staff meetings to review daily and weekly work activities.
Management Information Systems
Ensure all team members are properly trained and efficient in the required information systems, including WMS.
Ensure necessary computer software and hardware are purchased in accordance with corporate IT policies.
Remain knowledgeable regarding changes in hardware and software technology.
Develop proficiency in client systems.
Customer Management
Maintain high‑level customer service standards for all functions.
Assure that client accounts receive the required level of operational and administrative support.
Maintain appropriate contact with all functions and respond to requests.
Attend or lead meetings with key customers to discuss any issues.
Coordinate management of supplier/customer visits to the site.
Promote positive relationships with clients through excellent service.
Budgeting and Financials
Support the development of an annual operating budget.
Develop and manage controls to ensure service levels and operational performance goals are met within cost, revenue, and profit parameters.
Assist in ensuring budgeting and pricing activities comply with contract guidelines.
Equipment and Facilities
Manage existing programs to maintain standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and equipment, including MHE.
Ensure team members are properly trained on any MHE.
Stay informed of new technology and make recommendations as applicable.
Safety
Achieve company injury frequency rating (IFR) and other safety metrics by establishing a proactive safety culture.
Audit warehouse for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles and rules.
Ensure all statutory requirements are adhered to within health and safety parameters.
Other Duties
Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage warehouse operations supervisors and support staff.

Education and Experience
High‑school diploma or equivalent (GED); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum 7 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or a related environment.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
Able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during mild to moderate seasonal variations.
Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated proficiency in applicable WMS systems.
Language Skills
English reading, writing, and verbal communication.
Proficiency in business communication at all levels.
Physical Demands
Occasionally: Handling, finger work, sitting.
Frequently: Bending.
Constantly: Walking and standing.
Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21‑50 pounds, including reaching above shoulder, reaching outward, squatting, or kneeling.
Work Environment
The work environment has low to moderate noise levels and the employee is rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxins, or caustic chemicals.
Base Compensation
Expected base pay range: $75,800.00 – $96,500.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
