Senior Total Rewards Manager (Fully Remote – EST Required)
About the Role
We’re seeking a strategic, data‑driven Senior Total Rewards Manager to lead the design, administration, and continuous improvement of our compensation, benefits, and payroll programs. This role is fully remote, but candidates must be located in and work standard business hours within the Eastern Time Zone .
You’ll serve as the organization’s subject‑matter expert across all areas of Total Rewards, ensuring our programs are competitive, compliant, scalable, and aligned with our people strategy. This is a high‑impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑moving environment and enjoys building strong cross‑functional partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation
- Lead the development, evaluation, and administration of compensation structures, salary bands, and incentive programs
- Conduct market analyses and benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices
- Partner with HR and business leaders on job architecture, leveling, and compensation decisions
- Oversee annual merit, bonus, and compensation planning cycles
- Manage the strategy, design, and administration of health, wellness, retirement, and leave programs
- Evaluate benefit offerings for competitiveness, cost effectiveness, and employee experience
- Lead open enrollment planning, communication, and execution
- Partner with brokers, vendors, and carriers to optimize service delivery and resolve escalations
Payroll
- Oversee end‑to‑end payroll operations in partnership with internal teams and external providers
- Ensure accurate, timely payroll processing across all employee groups
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Drive process improvements, audits, and system enhancements
Total Rewards Strategy & Operations
- Develop and maintain Total Rewards policies, governance, and documentation
- Leverage data and analytics to inform decisions and identify trends
- Lead Total Rewards communications to enhance employee understanding and engagement
- Support M&A activities, integrations, and organizational changes as needed
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, with balanced expertise across compensation, benefits, and payroll
- Strong knowledge of federal and multi‑state employment, benefits, and payroll regulations
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Workday, ADP, UKG, or similar)
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership abilities
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating across time zones
- Must reside in and work standard business hours within the Eastern Time Zone
