Essential Functions
- Direct the Marching Hilltoppers and Concert Band
- Direct other ensembles as needed by the program and according to the candidate's expertise
- Coordinate instruments and equipment related to the duties of a Director of Bands
- Teach Applied Lessons (Percussion preferred but woodwinds and high brass candidates will also be considered)
- Teach other courses as needed by the program and according to the candidate's expertise and experience
- Lead recruitment efforts for all degrees: Music Education, Music Performance, and Music Technology
- Positively represent the program, department, college, and university at on-campus and off-campus performances and other events
Education & Experience Requirements
- Masters degree in Music required; Doctorate preferred
- Percussionist preferred but woodwinds and high brass candidates will also be considered
- Experience leading collegiate marching band and concert band is required
- Steel band experience is preferred

Anticipated Faculty Appointment Date: August 1, 2026
A faculty member is expected to participate in continuous improvement in the areas of teaching, professional development, and service to the university and community. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
