MBS seeks an experienced Upper and Middle School choral director (leave replacement) to join the Performing Arts Department. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of passion, innovation, and creativity that inspires students in grades 6-12. The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate superior content knowledge
- Encourage a culture of mutual respect and equitable practice
- Teach Upper School and Middle School chorus classes
- Prepare students for annual choral performances
- Produce the Upper School play and musical productions
- Direct the Middle School musical
- Exhibit knowledge of student cognitive development and various learning styles
- Communicate effectively with students and families about classroom activities and student progress
- Showcase student work within the community
- Scaffold instructional activities that facilitate engaging and appropriate learning opportunities
- Be available to work some evenings and weekends when required
Responsibilities
- Act as an advisor
- Support the School's activities program
- Rotate through supervisory duties, such as detention, dismissal, study hall, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.Masters preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience.
- Professional alignment with the mission and values of MBS.
Salary Range
- The expected salary range for this position is $60,000-$90,000, commensurate with experience. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.Please note that this is a temporary position and does not include MBS benefits.
