JOB SUMMARY

Performs complex administrative and supervisory program work. Work involves establishing

program goals and objectives, developing program guidelines, policies, and procedures; performing

highly advanced work in the operation of the Metal Fabrication Factory; and supervising the work of

others. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and

independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A. Plans schedules of operations; evaluates operations and recommends changes; conducts

inspections to ensure quality and quantity control is maintained; ensures continued preventative

maintenance of machinery and equipment; maintains maintenance reports and logs; and

inspects and provides technical assistance in methods and equipment in metal fabrication.

B. Reviews raw material requirements; requisitions supplies, machinery, and equipment; and

provides technical input concerning the methods and equipment to repair vehicles.

C. Oversees and coordinates technical training of inmates; and maintains evaluations and records

of training activities and proficiencies for inmates.

D. Supervises the work of employees and inmates; and assigns work tasks in various phases of

production.

E. Maintains security of tools, machinery, and equipment; responds to emergency situations;

performs various correctional and custodial support functions; and assists in maintaining

security of assigned inmates.

* Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
