We’re looking for an experienced

Apparel Designer

with a strong point of view in

athleisure and outerwear . This person should bring a refined design aesthetic, a sharp awareness of trends, and deep technical knowledge across comfort-driven, fashion-relevant product categories. The ideal candidate understands how to balance creativity, function, and commercial appeal while designing product that feels elevated, modern, and aligned with a fast-moving brand.

In this role, you’ll design across fleece and outerwear categories, translating market insights, fabric innovation, and cultural trends into compelling product. You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners throughout development, from concept through production, ensuring fit, construction, performance, and cost goals are met without compromising design integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Turn trend research, consumer insights, and competitive analysis into commercially strong product concepts

Design across athleisure, fleece, and outerwear categories with attention to silhouette, comfort, proportion, and performance

Research emerging trends in fabric, trims, washes, and styling opportunities relevant to the target customer

Create detailed tech packs, CADs, bills of materials, and construction notes for development and production

Partner with fabric, product development, and production teams, as well as overseas vendors, throughout sampling and execution

Attend fittings and provide direction on fit, mobility, comfort, garment engineering, and overall functionality

Support seasonal color development and help build cohesive assortments across categories

Maintain visual line plans that support merchandising goals and product flow

Design within cost parameters while preserving quality and aesthetic standards

Manage multiple projects at once in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, creative, development, and production teams to bring product to market efficiently

Continuously push the design aesthetic forward while staying true to the overall brand direction

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of athleisure, activewear, and outerwear construction

Experience with performance fabrics, fabric finishes, insulation, waterproofing, stretch recovery, moisture management, and durability standards

Solid understanding of garment engineering for comfort, movement, layering, and function

Background designing knits, puffers, jackets, technical outerwear, and performance-oriented product

Ability to create technical sketches, BOMs, construction callouts, and detailed tech packs

Familiarity with trims and functional components such as zippers, toggles, drawcords, snaps, seam sealing, elastic systems, and specialized hardware

Understanding of garment washes, dye techniques, fabric treatments, and performance finishes

Experience partnering with product development teams and overseas factories through sampling and fittings

Ability to assess prototype samples for fit, balance, construction, mobility, and performance

Strong eye for trend research, market positioning, and product relevance within athleisure and outerwear

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PLM systems

Experience working in high-SKU environments with multiple seasonal launches

Strong understanding of assortment architecture across core, seasonal, and fashion product categories

Ideal Background

7+ years of apparel design experience with a portfolio that reflects strong taste and proven commercial success

Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience with 3D design tools is a plus

Deep knowledge of textiles, fit, garment construction, and performance materials

Experience managing development calendars, vendor communication, and production constraints

Strong understanding of costing, timelines, and executional realities

Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach

Ability to stay organized and self-directed while managing multiple workstreams

Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines

Strong ownership mindset with urgency and accountability from concept through final execution
