Job Summary
The Communications Graphic Designer will work as part of the team responsible for SC TEACHER’s communications brand and the expansion and implementation of communications strategies and policies to support the strategic goals of SC TEACHER. The role will involve research report design, creation of graphics for social media, marketing, and team presentations, event preparation and setup, and support overall communications and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Design and coordinate graphic design of research materials such as monthly reports and data visualizations, ensuring brand adherence.

Create marketing materials (postcards, handouts, flyers, event materials) to support stakeholder engagement and promote research and events.

Prepare and coordinate event materials, including swag, handouts, branded décor, and facilitation items, collaborating with team members.

Contribute to project management by tracking project goals and steps within a project management system (e.g., Basecamp).

Qualifications

BA/BS in a related field (e.g., Graphic Design, Communications, Visual Arts, or a similar discipline).

Minimum 2 years of graphic design experience, proof of portfolio, and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).

Demonstrated ability to apply visual design principles and brand guidelines to projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong skills with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator and InDesign.

Experience with project management tools (e.g., Monday, Asana, Basecamp) and event coordination.

Familiarity with web design, HTML, and proofing against a style guide.

Experience creating social media graphics and marketing assets.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Strong visual communication and presentation creation skills.

Knowledge of brand standards, documentation, and compliance with style guidelines.

Employment Details

Campus: Columbia, SC (Hybrid)

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM (standard), with flexibility, occasional nights and weekends.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

Duration: Staff Time‑Limited (12‑month contract).

Compensation: Salary commensurate with qualifications.
