The Director, MES — Americas is a foundational role for the region. The successful candidate will start as a hands‑on individual contributor — personally driving pre‑sales, delivery, enablement, training and SME work — and progressively build out a regional team as the business scales. Throughout, they will leverage the full strength of the global Roima organisation, including consulting and delivery resources, TilliT product leadership, and global sales and marketing.

If you are equally comfortable closing deals, delivering solutions, and building teams, this is a unique opportunity to create and lead a regional MES business from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Lead regional pre‑sales activities including discovery, solution design, demos, proposals, and technical close

Partner with commercial teams to qualify pipeline and convert opportunities into deliverable scope

Develop reusable assets (demos, ROI models, solution narratives) tailored to target industries

Act as a trusted advisor to customers and an executive sponsor on strategic deals

Build and manage a network of implementation and reseller partners across the Americas

Design and deliver partner enablement programs, certifications, and sales tools

Drive partner‑led revenue growth while ensuring delivery quality and customer success

Establish governance, performance standards, and engagement cadence

Product Delivery & Implementation

Lead delivery of MES implementations, initially as a hands‑on senior practitioner

Define and enforce delivery standards, methodologies, and quality controls

Manage escalations and ensure successful outcomes for complex engagements

Own delivery performance, including margin, quality, and customer satisfaction

Training & Capability Building

Deliver initial training for customers, partners, and internal teams

Develop structured training programs, certification paths, and learning formats

Hire, develop, and scale a regional team of consultants and solution architects

Track capability development through measurable performance indicators

Subject Matter Expertise & Thought Leadership

Act as the senior MES authority in the Americas

Represent the company in customer engagements, industry events, and partner forums

Translate market insights into product and strategy improvements

Maintain expertise across MES and related technologies

Regional Leadership & Team Build‑Out

Lead MES operations in the Americas in close partnership with senior leadership

Leverage global resources to scale capability efficiently

Define and execute a regional hiring and growth plan

Build and manage a high‑performing team aligned to clear business KPIs

What We’re Looking For

10+ years of experience in MES, manufacturing software, or industrial automation

Proven success in customer‑facing roles spanning pre‑sales and delivery

Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders (VP/C‑level)

Track record of building or scaling partner ecosystems

Deep MES domain expertise, with hands‑on familiarity with platforms such as TilliT, AVEVA / Wonderware (System Platform, InTouch, MES, InBatch, OMI, Historian), Inductive Automation Ignition, Sepasoft, Traksys, Rockwell, Siemens, GE Proficy, or similar.

Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting pipeline, bookings, and delivery outcomes

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent practical experience

Strong communication skills in English; Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus due to regional customer engagement

The role is based out of Chicago, other locations will be considered. You need to have a willingness to travel across the Americas (~30%) and occasionally to other Roima locations globally.

Preferred Experience

Experience growing MES or industrial software businesses in sectors such as CPG, Food & Beverage, Life Sciences, or Chemicals

Experience scaling a regional organization from individual contributor to team leadership

Experience working in global, matrixed environments

Familiarity with Latin American markets, particularly Brazil
