Job Summary
The piano accompanist provides support to the Department of Music through accompaniment on piano. The accompanist works closely with area coordinators and private lesson instructors during rehearsals and performances, which may occur during and outside the regular school day. The accompanist also serves as an instructional resource for music students. This position is part-time, as needed, hourly.

This position is not benefits eligible.

Job Duties

Accompanies student musicians (vocal and instrumental) in/at:

Lessons

Classes

Departmental recital hours

Juries

Degree recitals

Special events (competitions, etc.)

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Familiarity with and experience playing standard vocal and instrumental repertory.

Advanced sight reading skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with students, instructors, and area coordinators.

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Music or related field with piano as primary instrument.

Required Work Experience: Three (3) years of experience in collaborative piano.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Piano Performance or related degree.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations: None specified.

Work Hours

Works as needed based on departmental assignment.

Assigned hours may occur during and outside of the regular school day.

Compensation
Salary: $40/hour.
