Position Overview
The Part-Time Piano Accompanist supports the middle school and high school vocal music programs through collaborative piano performance and rehearsal accompaniment. This position requires a flexible, dependable musician who can work with student ensembles across two campus sites and assist in preparing students for performances, contests, and competitions.

Primary Responsibilities

Accompany choirs, soloists, and ensembles during rehearsals and performances.

Travel between the middle school and high school campuses as needed.

Provide piano accompaniment for concerts, daily or sectional rehearsals, OSSAA contests, and show choir competitions and performances.

Collaborate closely with choir directors to support instructional goals and performance preparation.

Assist students with musical accuracy, tempo, entrances, and stylistic interpretation during rehearsals.

Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and preparedness for all rehearsals and events.

Additional Opportunities

Participation in musical productions.

Accompanying show choir rehearsals, performances, and competitions.

Potential travel related to competitions and events.

Qualifications

Proficient piano performance skills with strong sight‑reading ability.

Ability to confidently read and interpret vocal and choral scores.

Experience accompanying soloists and ensembles preferred.

Strong collaborative and communication skills.

Ability to adapt quickly during rehearsals and live performances.

Previous experience working with school‑aged musicians preferred.

Schedule Expectations
This is a part-time position with a schedule that varies based on rehearsals, performances, competitions, and seasonal concert demands. Some evening and occasional weekend commitments are required.
