Audio Technician (Full-time) Location: Anakeesta, Gatlinburg, TN 37738
Salary: $20.00 hourly
The ideal candidate would have a strong background in audio and is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the park audio systems, setting up live sound and recording equipment, making adjustments, testing equipment, and operating live productions.
Responsibilities Mix live audio for stage and roaming performances
Perform daily rehearsal support consisting of audio and stage set up
Perform pre and post show checks to ensure correct and smooth execution of the show
Assist in audio equipment changeover for next show
Manage daily audio system schedules
Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of park audio systems along with related components
Change audio programming and placement for special events and holidays
Install, repair and terminate CAT5/6 cabling for audio systems
Keep work area orderly, neat, safe, and well maintained
Log all daily repairs and equipment needs
Assist in other areas of the technical department as directed (lighting and video support)
Drive company vehicles (cars, vans, utility vehicles, non-commercial trucks) to transport personnel and/or supplies
Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications A minimum of 2 years’ experience required which demonstrates the successful execution of similar duties and responsibilities in a theme park environment
Good knowledge of indoor and outdoor technical theater equipment, installation, and operation
Ability to operate, program, and troubleshoot technical equipment
Experience and solid understanding of DMX cabling, setup, and troubleshooting
Experience operating various audio systems and consoles
Test, repair, and clean audio equipment
Good working knowledge and understanding of electricity
Ability to use hand tools and power tools such as voltmeters, soldering pencils and guns, clamp on digital multimeters, hand drills, electric saws, hammers, screw guns, wrenches, pliers, boom lifts, scissor lifts, ladders, etc.
Reading, writing, and math skills necessary to: label equipment, control systems, cables, etc.
Understand related schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturer manuals
Ability to initiate inventory lists, monthly maintenance reports of related equipment
Ability to think clearly and react quickly and calmly to changes and/or emergency situations
Must promote and support a "team" environment by cooperating and helping co-workers
Able to hear, see, speak, and write English
Must be able to hear well in a noisy or musical environment
Must have required technical capacity and strong problem analysis/solving ability
Able to get along with other employees to work out problems and resolve conflicts
Able to maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules
Must be able to move about, climb, bend, twist, kneel, stoop, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to adjust to outside temperatures ranging from 0 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit with fluctuations in humidity
Must be able to climb and work comfortably in high positions up to 80 feet off the ground
Working knowledge of basic networking equipment and application/configuration preferred
Experience with SMPTE timecode preferred
Ability to solder and do light PCB repair preferred
